Face Painting

This is me as the "Cat in the Hat" for Halloween 2013. The first time I ever painted myself! The red eyes just make the picture - I look totally evil!
How I Got Started Face Painting

My eldest granddaughter's school was holding an event they called "The Mingle" in the fall of 2012 - somehow (and I really don't remember) I got it in my head to volunteer to do some facepainting (no charge - though we did accept donations for the school) for the kids at the event.

So, I bought a book and some paints, drafted my daughter, and we had so much fun it was unbelieveable! And, as an aside, I think we collected around $40 in donations - not too shabby.

We did free facepainting again for the school's spring event.

This year for "The Mingle", I decided I wanted to do more than just "cheek art". I scoured the 'net and pinterest for pictures and tutorials for "full" face designs, as well as some masks and crowns. Due to a misunderstanding (on my part) we also ended up with the supplies to do glitter tattoos.

How much fun was that??? Bunches! While I did the "fancy" faces (my daughter's term), she did cheek art and tattoos.
